Paris & Tokyo MoUs on Port State Control – Concentrated Inspection Campaign (CIC) on Enclosed Space Entry
The Paris and Tokyo MoUs on Port State Control (PSC) have announced a joint CIC applicable to all ships on Crew Familiarization for Enclosed Space Entry, which will take place in the period from 1 September to 30 November 2015. The purpose of the CIC is to ensure effective procedures and measures are in place to safeguard the seafarers onboard ships when entering and working in enclosed spaces. Based on our extensive experience in this field, we have prepared a Circular Letter with explanations / useful information regarding each of the questions of the relevant PSC questionnaire for guidance of crews. For more information / further guidance (e.g. model procedures / forms and Risk Assessment for both the identification of the enclosed spaces as well as the enclosed space entry) please contact Mr. John Mellos (j.mellos@alphamrn.com) or Mr. Andreas Debonos (a.debonos@alphamrn.com).
