AMC’s Innovative Techcross ECS-1000B BWTS: Revolutionizing Maritime Solutions on Product Oil Chemical Tankers

The successful installation of the newly patented Techcross ECS-1000B BWTS, with FMU bypass during de-ballasting, onboard a 50,400 DWT Product Oil Chemical Tanker reveals AMC’s commitment to standing at the forefront of maritime innovation providing tailored and cost-efficient solutions to our clients.
Generally, on tankers with submerged pumps, a dedicated room is installed on the main deck area including explosion-proof equipment. This method involves safety concerns and leads to high installation costs.
Techcross’ patented solution, in conjunction with AMC turnkey design, allowed the installation of non-explosion-proof type BWTS in the engine room by adding a new pump for ballasting operation and reducing the purchasing and installation costs by more than 20%. The newly added key benefit is the removal of the flow monitoring unit from the de-ballasting lines which led to reducing the total piping length and subsequently the installation time and cost even further by 20% to 30%.
This is the first vessel from a series of six sister vessels that will adopt this new type-approved Techcross BWTS.
