Successful Delivery of C-Type LNG Fuel Tank for Newbuild PCTC Vessel
Alpha Marine Consulting is proud to announce the successful delivery of the C-type LNG fuel tank for a newbuild PCTC vessel.
Our team has been responsible for the detailed plan approval and construction supervision, ensuring, regulatory compliance, and technical quality at every stage.
C-Type LNG tanks are cylindrical, pressure-rated storage solutions widely used in marine LNG fuel systems. These tanks are specifically designed to store LNG at cryogenic temperatures,
typically around -162°C and are equipped with vacuum and multilayer insulation systems to minimize boil-off gas (BOG) and ensure thermal efficiency.
Key features of C-type LNG tanks include:
- Vacuum-insulated double-shell construction
- Multilayer insulation for exceptional thermal performance
- Pressure containment capability (usually up to 4–5 bar)
- FGSS Room including BOG compressor and LNG vaporizers
As regulations tighten and the industry moves toward decarbonization, LNG remains one of the most viable transitional marine fuels
and the reliability of fuel storage systems like this is critical for safe and efficient operations.
Congratulations to the entire project team for this milestone and stay tuned for further developments!
