GENERAL PRIVACY POLICY

This Privacy Policy applies to all personal information received in the course of the business activities conducted by the Company under the corporate name Alpha Marine Consulting P.C., having its registered seat at Piraeus, 55 Kastoros Street (hereinafter referred to as Alpha Marine or “the Company”), in its capacity as a data controller. Such business activities include but are not limited to, corporate communications, communications with employees of clients and/or suppliers, as well as any other activity involving the processing of personal data, in the course of the Company’s day-to-day operations.

Data Processing

Alpha Marine collects and processes your personal data, which may include:

Personal information and contact details: e.g. your name, telephone number, and e-mail address,

Employment information: employer/ previous employers, name and position in the company, and

Any other personal information contained in messages and e-mails directed at Alpha Marine.

Alpha Marine does not install and/or use any cookies collect or process in any way personal data on the Website.

Alpha Marine processes your personal data during your or your employer’s cooperation with it, if such exists, while such processing may extend after the completion of such cooperation or despite the absence of such cooperation, if this is required in order for the Company to comply with its legal obligations towards the authorities and/or third parties, due to applicable provisions on the obligatory data retention periods or if such retention is required for the establishment, exercise and/or support of legal claims.

Data processing purposes

We process your data for the following purposes:

To inform you about developments in the shipping industry, trainings and seminars conducted by our firm, and developments concerning Alpha Marine;

To respond to any queries or messages you addressed to our firm, and/or when you are exercising your rights deriving from Regulation No. 2016/679 on the protection of natural persons with regard to the processing of personal data – GDPR;

To exercise our rights and fulfill our legal obligations;

For communication purposes with a view of potentially setting up a commercial collaboration with you and/or your Company;

To conduct corporate communications relating to the Company’s business activities.

Data transfers to third parties

The personal data will be accessible to the Company and its fully authorized personnel, as well as to third parties, within Greece or in other member states of the European Economic Area (EEA), that will process your data exclusively on behalf of the Company and in accordance with the latter’s terms and instructions and with the applicable provisions of the GDPR, and the contract between the Company and any third parties. The use and transfer of such data to third parties, which act on behalf of the Company, are governed by contractual terms, which create the obligation for such third parties to enact protection measures for your personal data. The Company retains the right to reveal your data to the public authorities, to the extent required by law, regulation, administrative or judicial order, or other acts with similar nature and effect.

Such third parties may pertain to one of the following categories:

Co-operating companies that provide technical services, safety services; technical, financial and legal advisors;

Investigators and auditors;

Accounting companies;

Local and travel agents;

Training centers;

Any other data recipients that may be required to receive your data, in order for the Company to conduct processing activities in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

Legal basis for processing and obligation to provide data

Alpha Marine processes your data on the following legal grounds: (a) to comply with its legal obligations, (b) to fulfill its obligations and/ or satisfy its rights deriving from an agreement between you and Alpha Marine, (c) to satisfy its legitimate interests, such as to ensure the security of persons and property, to fulfill its legal/contractual obligations, to assess its counterparties, to establish, exercise or defend legal claims and to conduct business communications, and/or (d) to process your personal data on the basis of your consent, where applicable.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have the right to know what personal data we collect and store, including other information on the processing thereof, and you may request a copy at any time and/or that we send to you or another party this information in a commonly used format. You are also entitled to have your personal data corrected and/or completed. You may request us to delete your personal data and/or to restrict the use of your personal data, and/or object to the processing activities conducted by us. Persons under the age of 16

The Company does not collect any personal data of persons under the age of 16. If you are younger than 16 years of age, please do not communicate any of your personal data to Alpha Marine.

Applicable law and dispute resolution

This Privacy Policy is governed by Greek Law. Any dispute arising out of or relating to this Privacy Policy shall be resolved in the Courts of Piraeus.
